I Miss the Ice Cream Truck.

Seriously, I miss these thing so much.

Man, nothing beat sitting around on a hot-ass day, and then out in the distance you start to hear the humming of "Pop Goes the Weasel."  All the kids on the block knew what that meant; the ice cream man was coming.  These things always had the very best ice cream, better than any of that crap in stores today.  I'll never forget biting chunks out of characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, Spiderman, and the Ninja Turtles. Things got so intense when that truck came around.  It was like a horde of children just emerged from the brush like a bunch of rabid Ewoks.  I even remember a time when I busted my ass chasing that truck down, and I got right back up, covered in blood and rock fragments stuck in me, and caught it.  It was so satisfying, with my GameBoy Advance in one hand and a Sonic popsicle in the other.  Oh, how I wish I could find popsicles like this is stores today...

5 Reasons Why facebook is Useless

...but we still use it anyways.

1: Drama-bombs.
Now, facebook is meant to be a social networking site, allowing us to connect with our friends through the Internet, right?  Well, it is technically true, but it seems like more drama is caused than good.  I wish I had a dollar for every facebook fight I see every day.  And the bad thing is, most of these people fight online, then act normal in real life!  Wtf!?  If you're going to be an ass online, quit being a puss and deal with it in real life, Internet tough guy.

2: Attention-whores.
This one is so obvious.  Ever noticed that girl on your friendslist that's wearing as little clothes as possible, in the typical ass-out-in-the-air pose, with that damn duckface going on?  Yeah, that's an attention-whore.  They tend to have over 2,000+ friends and hundreds of pictures that all look exactly the same.  I tend to troll all over people like this for fun, but they usually either delete your comments and you from their 'friends' (usually a crapload of people they don't know) because they can't handle any type of negative criticism.

3: Privacy.
Yeah, I like how all of your information is completely public.  Yes, you can hide all of this, and I do, but most morons don't.  Don't worry, all they're going to know is your town, phone number, email, family members, school, workplace, and whatever it is you're doing since you update your status with everything you're doing.

4: Spam.
Dear God, I DO NOT want to look at your farm.  You can stop sending me all of those effing invites to that game.  If I wanted to farm, I'd go outside, which is where you should be, and plant some corn.

5: GO OUTSIDE AND GET SOME SUN.
Seriously, people who spend their life on facebook are sad.  Yeah, it's fun, and a good way to communicate, but come on, spending your whole day on there is just sad.  And you're probably playing with that farm, too, aren't you?  Stop sending me invites.  And you can stop updating your status every 5 minutes too.  I don't need to know what's going on in your life constantly.  Go outside.

Now, I'm not bashing facebook, since I spend time on there every day.  I do find it a good way to communicate with friends and family, but geez, do it in moderations.  I have a facebook, and will continue to use it, but people that do above said things are just irritating.

Cartoon Network... Growing Up?

Is Cartoon Network finally starting to grow up, by showing more mature shows?

I've always been a big fan of Cartoon Network, ever since I was a kid.  I'm sure anyone who watched Cartoon Network back in the 90's-early 2000's remembers all of their great shows, including:
  • Ed, Edd, and Eddy
  • Samurai Jack
  • Powerpuff Girls
  • Courage the Cowardly Dog
  • Dexter's Laboratory
I loved these shows, and I'm sure a ton of others are with me on this one; these were the BEST shows Cartoon Network ever put out.  Unfortunately, most of these shows were cancelled, but reruns can be found sometimes.  Well, now that CN has cancelled most, if not all, of its shows, what will they do now?  It's easy: produce more shows.  Now, I'm not going to say all of the new CN shows are terrible... but 90% of them serve as proof of why most kids these days are dumbasses.  Seriously.  Shows like MAD and The Problem Solvers make me disappointed that youth today aren't able to enjoy the amazing cartoons CN had back in the day.  Now, I'm not going to completely bash CN's new line-ups, because there are two shows I actually do enjoy: Adventure Time and The Regular Show.  As interesting and hilarious I find these two new shows, something else sparked my interest.  Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how mature some scenes are in these shows!?  I'm not complaining, I'm 16, I can handle the content, but is this a hint that CN might finally be hitting puberty?  I saw this from The Regular Show yesterday, and this clip was what sparked my interest.
Remember back when all a CN show had was a fart joke and cooties?  Could this be a clue that Cartoon Network might be leaning to capture views from a mature audience, rather than kids?  I know they have [adult swim] late at night, but do you think CN could possibly end up showing more mature shows for good to gain views from the teenage/mature audience?
